UK Cambridge/ Hybrid/ Remote

You will take a leading role in the design, delivery, and support of cutting-edge green energy software as part of a product-led, continuous delivery lifecycle. Working with key stakeholders inside and outside the company, you will help shape the design and architecture of this rapidly evolving software product and take a leading role in implementing this design as part of day-to-day development efforts. You will also be a leading voice in our continuous improvement as a software delivery function – using your experience to guide how our engineering policies and practices evolve. This is a position that requires passion, enthusiasm and a genuine desire for growth. This is a multi-functional team where we work with a breadth of stakeholders across our business and our customers, and no two days are the same. The following is required in this role: • As a senior member of the Engineering team, you will take a leading role in the delivery of scalable, reliable software at pace by: o Building new software features and services in collaboration with the wider Engineering team, typically in pair- or mob-programming sessions. o Working with Product stakeholders to translate product requirements into technical designs. o Acting as a leading voice in the refinement of large areas of development focus into deliverable iterations. o Leading prototyping and feasibility studies for new capabilities, including being a major voice for when to build/buy/partner. o Assisting in the training and upskilling of other staff on your areas of expertise, such as through code reviews, pair programming, or direct coaching. o Participating in regular product demo and feedback sessions with external stakeholders. o Being a leading voice in internal continuous improvement discussions such as retrospectives. o Acting as a technical subject matter expert and point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders. o Writing appropriate test automation code to ensure reliability of Spine’s services. o Supporting the services you develop as part of team-wide out-of-hours efforts. • As a member of the wider Spine team, you will also act more broadly to help achieve our collective success: o Supporting high-level corporate goals and objectives outside of Engineering o Contributing proactively where your skills, experience, and enthusiasm allow you to make an impact. To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone with the following: • Proven experience building and operating java-based applications in an enterprise environment (Spring boot or Micronaut preferred), ideally as microservices within a SaaS platform. • Good working understanding of software architecture and design patterns, ideally within a Domain Driven Design (DDD) context. • Opinionated on good practices around resilience, scalability, and maintainability of large-scale software systems. • Experience working with container management solutions (Kubernetes, ECS, etc), ideally within a managed cloud platform (EKS, GKE, etc). • Good understanding of DevOps practices and Continuous Delivery (CD). • Confident communicator with internal and external stakeholders. • At your best working in a small, technically challenging, and cross-functional development teams. • Committed to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and product quality. • Excited to be part of the early days of a new tech startup, with all the uncertainty and opportunity that entails. In addition, one or more of the following would be great to have: • Experience with frontend UI design and development (MUI / React preferred). • Familiarity with Data Engineering patterns, such Data Products and Data Pipelines. • Experience with platform-as-a-product delivery or platform engineering. • Familiarity with Machine Learning Engineering tools and frameworks. • Experience with microservice networking and service meshes (such as Istio). • Well-informed on security considerations in a cloud native environment, with prior experience with related tooling (e.g. OPA, IRSA). UK Cambridge/ Hybrid/ Remote

You will take a major role in the design, delivery, and support of cutting-edge green energy software as part of a product-led, continuous delivery lifecycle. Working as a senior member of the wider Engineering team, you will be helping to shape the design and architecture of our rapidly evolving software product while delivering regular updates in order to deliver increasingly valuable capabilities to our customers. This is a position that requires passion, enthusiasm and a genuine desire for growth. This is a multi-functional team where we work with a breadth of stakeholders across our business and our customers, and no two days are the same. The following is required in this role: • As a senior member of the Engineering team, you will take part in the delivery of scalable, reliable software at pace by: o Building new software features and services in collaboration with the wider Engineering team, typically in pair- or mob-programming sessions. o Working with peers to refine technical designs and break large development focus areas into deliverable iterations. o Leading prototyping and feasibility studies for new capabilities, including being a major voice for when to build/buy/partner. o Taking part in internal continuous improvement discussions such as retrospectives. o Participating in regular product demo and feedback sessions with external stakeholders. o Writing appropriate test automation code to ensure reliability of Spine’s services. o Supporting the services you develop as part of team-wide out-of-hours efforts. • As a member of the wider Spine team, you will also act more broadly to help achieve our collective success: o Supporting high-level corporate goals and objectives outside of Engineering o Contributing proactively where your skills, experience, and enthusiasm allow you to make an impact. UK Cambridge/ Hybrid/ Remote

You will lead communication with customers and other external stakeholders to support in the enablement of customer renewables assets for integration with our cutting-edge green energy software. Working with the wider Customer Success team, you will lead internal efforts to support customers to achieve their business outcomes, including configuring or customising our standard product, or leading support during customers incidents or outages. You will also be embedded within a Development Squad alongside members of the Engineering and Product teams, taking part in the product-led, continuous delivery lifecycle and acting as the representative for customer perspectives and champion for software supportability. As part of this Squad, you will be making small – but regular – updates to our software platform in order to deliver increasingly valuable capabilities to our customers. This is a position that requires passion, enthusiasm and a genuine desire for growth. This is a multi-functional team where we work with a breadth of stakeholders across our business and our customers, and no two days are the same. The following is required in this role: • As a member of the Customer Success team, your primary responsibility (60%) is to lead efforts to enable customers to make use of our software platform, including: o Collaborating with key customer stakeholders, vendors, or other 3rd party representatives to understand custom requirements and coordinate actions. o Configuring or otherwise customising core platform capabilities according to customer needs. o Coordinating customer asset enablement activities, either virtually or on-site, including liaising with 3rd party contractors and enablement partners. o Managing and maintaining edge Internet of Things (IoT) devices for communicating with customer assets. o Acting as first-line out-of-hours support for customer issues and outages. o Feeding high-level customer insights or feedback to the Product team for prioritisation and design. o Other activities to support customer users to succeed in their business outcomes, as required (e.g. writing end-user guides, walkthroughs or training on how to use platform functionality). • As a member of a Software Development squad, you will also take part (40%) in the delivery of scalable, reliable software at pace by: o Acting as a representative of customer viewpoints and supportability considerations. o Building new software features and services in collaboration with the wider Engineering team, typically in pair- or mob-programming sessions. o Leading implementation of last-mile 3rd party system integrations with your squad’s core services, including working with external development partners. o Participating in regular product demo and feedback sessions with external stakeholders. o Taking part in internal continuous improvement discussions such as retrospectives. o Participating in code reviews with the wider Engineering team. o Writing appropriate test automation code to ensure reliability of Spine’s services. o Leading in-hours support for the services your squad owns. •As a member of the wider Spine team, you will also act more broadly to help achieve our collective success: o Supporting high-level corporate goals and objectives outside of Customer Success o Contributing proactively where your skills, experience, and enthusiasm allow you to make an impact.
